SUPPORT, BALANCE & PROPULSION: Working from and with the feet

As part of the team at the rehabilitation clinic of the California College of Podiatric Medicine, Feldenkrais^® teacher and kinesiologist, Larry Goldfarb realized that, no matter the diagnosis, so many of the clinic's patients had disturbances in the same critical functional relationships.

SUPPORT, BALANCE & PROPULSION starts with the recognition of the perceptual and biomechanical roles the feet play in patterns that underlie skeletal support, balance, and locomotion. Through ATM lessons, interactive learning labs, and guided FI practice, participants investigate the foot's multifaceted neurological connections and functional relationships. Exploring quantities of touch and aspects of sensations, participants refine their ability to work with and from the foot to refine sensory-motor competence and facilitate self-guided learning.

Larry's emphasis, as always, is on facilitating self-guided learning—and his dedication is to each person's learning. During the FI practice he offers participants individual coaching in technique, self-use, and strategy.
