Larry Goldfarb

Lawrence Wm. Goldfarb, Ph.D. (University of Illinois, Urbanan-Champaign, 1995) is a movement scientist, certified Feldenkrais^® trainer, pioneering practitioner, and multimedia author known for articulating the thinking behind the method. Besides directing and teaching in professional training programs in Europe, Australia, and North America, Dr. Goldfarb teaches public workshops, professional seminars, and post-graduate courses the world over. He is also the founder of Mind in Motion (MIM) and Mind in Motion online (MIMO).

Having written extensively about the Feldenkrais Method^® of learning, Larry is committed to developing explicit frameworks for understanding the method and for making the method relevant in everyday life.

Besides training new teachers, his current focus is on conducting post-graduate training programs for Feldenkrais teachers and developing this website. He maintains the private practice he started over twenty-five years ago in Santa Cruz, CA.

Anastasi Siotas

Anastasi Siotas has been Mind In Motion's (MIM) Education Specialist since January 2006. Anastasi also organizes Mind In Motions's ongoing advanced Feldenkrais^® trainings in New York City and was the logistics coordinator of MIM's New York Feldenkrais Teacher Training 2004 – 2008.

Anastasi was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. He has a Bachelor of Science with Honors, a Masters in Education and a Masters in Movement & Dance. Anastasi taught movement classes and directed theater productions at Melbourne University during the late 1980's and early 90's

In 1997, after completing his Feldenkrais training through the University of Sydney, Anastasi moved to New York City to further his Feldenkrais experience. Thirteen years later he continues to learn through teaching the Feldenkrais Method^® in a variety of settings, from schools to health clubs to physical therapy offices. Anastasi gives individual Functional Integration^® (FI) lessons and offers group Awareness Through Movement^® (ATM) classes.

Jesse DeRooy

Jesse Rose DeRooy is Mind in Motion's marketing administrator and media maven; she has been with the company since January 2006. She holds a degree in Applied Interactive Media (a degree she created herself) from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Jesse has produced many titles in the digital arts and is the author and editor of the books, Secrets of Poser Experts (co-author Daryl Wise), and Mermaids Like Margaritas With Salt! (by Ellen Edith). She is also the director and editor of several video documentaries—Ideal Man and DF41 Portrait of an Ex-Artist—and was the senior editor for a nationally syndicated radio program, Outright Radio, for over five years.

Jesse is fascinated by the ever-changing landscapes of past, present and emerging media platforms. And yet as technologies continue to rapidly multiply media venues she still believes that, no matter what, story is king and context is queen. Jesse considers Somatics, and the work of Larry Goldfarb in particular, to be a very interesting subject matter that is ripe for ongoing translation into moving sounds and pictures. She lives with her family in Santa Cruz, CA.

Linda Hellfritsch

Linda Hellfritsch has been the office administrator at Mind in Motion's Santa Cruz, CA international headquarters since January 2008. She holds degrees in art and graphic design. She is a fine artist, freelance commercial artist, web designer and writer living in La Selva Beach, California.

Linda is co-author of Secrets of Corel Painter Artists (released October 2010) and has curated and hung both traditional and digital art exhibitions in San Jose, San Francisco, Monterey, San Clemente and Santa Cruz. In her spare time, she works as a scenic painter and props builder at the Crocker Theater in Aptos, California.
